St. Michael's has been successful in its reaccreditation of the Sainsbury's Gold Award which has been verified by the School Games Organiser. The information relates to Y1-Y6 PE and Sport for the last school year, 2015/16. During the past four years, St. Michael's has progressed from Bronze through to Silver and for the last two years, the Gold Award. An excellent achievement and one of which we are very proud.

Mrs Quinlivan, Mrs Evans and our Sports Councilors Abbie Gregory and Louie Roberts attended the presentation at Lowton High School on January 16th.

Sainsbury's School Games Gold Award 2014/15

It was a proud morning on Wednesday 6th Jan, when St. Michael's representatives joined other Wigan Schools to collect their Sainsbury's School Games Gold Award. 34 Wigan schools were represented to receive Bronze, Silver or Gold, with 7 earning Gold. William Hornby and Jessica Horsley happily accepted the Gold Award on our behalf! This Award is a National Kitemark standard in recognition of high quality PE, School Sport and Competition provided by school in 2014/15. St. Michael's received a Gold plaque, framed certificate and pennant and the right to use the Gold Kitemark logo. Well done to pupils, staff and families!no smiley
